Sachin Tendulkar interacted with 12,000 young doctors through a webinar to share his knowledge about sports injuries. Sachin Tendulkar got to know through Dr Sudhir Warrier, an orthopaedic surgeon, that several young doctors across the country were utilising the lockdown time to effectively gain more knowledge through live webinars. Sachin volunteered to be a part of the session that dealt with sports injuries. Nitin Patel, a physiotherapist who has worked with Indian cricket team and Mumbai Indians IPL franchise, moderated the session along with Dr Warrier.

Maxwell’s opinion

Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell believes a rescheduled IPL can be held behind closed doors but it will be difficult to justify conducting the upcoming T20 World Cup without fans cheering from the stands. “If IPL goes ahead they can probably survive without any crowds, but I can’t see the T20 World Cup surviving without any people,” Maxwell told ABC Grandstand.

Jeje initiative

Indian football team striker Jeje Lalpekhlua has come to the rescue of people in dire need of blood when it is not readily available in Mizoram due to the extraordinary situation arising out of the Covid-19 pandemic. Jeje is working in association with Young Mizo Association (YMA), a non-governmental voluntary organisation, for the cause.

Bonetti demise

Former Chelsea and England goalkeeper Peter Bonetti has died at the age of 78 following a long-term illness, the Premier League club announced Sunday. Nicknamed ‘The Cat’ because of his agility, Bonetti was a mainstay of the west London side for close on 20 years through the 1960s and 1970s. But with his career overlapping with that Gordon Banks, Bonetti made just seven appearances for England.
