Captain Roy Krishna’s late strike helped ATK snatch a point against Mumbai City FC as the match ended 2-2, here, at the Salt Lake Stadium on Saturday.

ATK, though, stayed at the top of the table with 11 points from six matches while Mumbai City are placed seventh with six points from as many matches. In a closely fought game that witnessed a turnout of 33, 515, Michael Soosairaj drew first blood and ATK led 1-0 in the 39 minute. Soosairaj received a through ball from Edu Garcia and calmly slotted the ball home.

After the change of ends, Mumbai City went all out for the equaliser. Modou Sougou got a cross from Diego Carlos but failed to find the target. However, in the 62nd minute, Pratik Chaudhari nodded in a Mohamed Larbi corner and equalised.

Serge Kevyn then put Mumbai City ahead in the injury time (90+3’) before Roy’s (90+6’) goal at the fag end saved the day for the hosts.

Though ATK got an important point, they were forced to make a substitution when Carl McHugh twisted his ankle while going for an aerial duel against Amine Chermiti. “We have to evaluate his condition. It didn’t look good for him,” ATK coach Antonio Lopez Habas said after the match.

The game had become physical in the second half with Mumbai City players resorting to rough tackles and ATK too giving it back.

“When the game ends in a draw, I cannot be very happy. But I’m pleased with the commitment of my team. We fought till the very end to get one point,” Habas added.
