Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman said it was not for him to comment about the club’s prospective participation in the newly-formed Super League.
The Catalan side were one of the 12 clubs who announced plans to form the breakaway league on Sunday. Since Tuesday eight clubs, including all six from the Premier League who were involved, have withdrawn. Barcelona remain one of the four clubs still part of the Super League.
Koeman, whose side are preparing to host Getafe in La Liga on Thursday, said that if anything needs to be said, club president Joan Laporta will make an announcement.
“I spoke with president yesterday, he explained the club’s position. But a lot has changed,” Koeman told a news conference. “There’s been a lot of fall out and the best not to say much now, no one knows what will happen.”
