Portsmouth players James Bolton, Andy Cannon and Sean Raggett have tested positive for the coronavirus. The players are now self-isolating in line with government advice, according to a Sky Sports report. “I received the news on Friday night and immediately spoke to Kenny (Jackett) and head physio Bobby Bacic. Kenny and I then spoke to all three players, who were in good spirits and perfectly calm, showing mild or no symptoms and are looking forward to overcoming it as quickly as possible,” the club’s chief executive, Mark Catlin, was quoted as saying.

Series postponed

Ireland’s seven-match series against Bangladesh on Saturday became the latest casualty to be inflicted on the cricket calendar by the coronavirus pandemic. The three ODIs in Belfast and four T20 matches in England, scheduled in May, have been postponed in line with the British and Irish government advice against the staging of sporting events.

Former India batsman Atul Bedade was on Saturday suspended form the Baroda women’s cricket team coach’s post with immediate effect after players accused him of sexual harassment and public shaming. The Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) took the action after some of the senior players complained of his alleged misbehaviour during a tournament in Himachal Pradesh last month.
