The javelins that Neeraj Chopra and Sumit Antil threw for gold in the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics will go under the virtual hammer as part of the Union culture ministry’s e-auction of gifts and mementos received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The e-auction will begin at 10am on Friday, September 17, Modi’s birthday.
The memorabilia include sports gear and equipment of the medal winning Olympians and Paralympians, and a replica of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir.
The base price of the javelins used by Chopra and Antil is Rs 1 crore. Also to go under the hammer are the blue pair of gloves worn by bronze-winning Assam boxer Lovlina Borgohain during her bout. The pair has a base price of Rs 80 lakh.
A stole signed by all the Olympians and an angavastra signed by all the paralympians will each go under the hammer for a starting price of Rs 90 lakh.

Proceeds from the e-auction will go to the Namami Gange Mission aimed at conserving and rejuvenating the Ganga, a statement said.
