The weightlifter, who won a silver medal at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics, tweeted: “Happy to be back here in amidst so much love and support. Thank You so much.”

In recognition of her feat, Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh has offered the 26-year-old a job of additional superintendent of police and a cash award of Rs 1 crore.

Chanu lifted a total of 202kg (87kg+115kg) in the 49kg category on Saturday to win the medal.
