Franchises have shown faith in Liam Livingstone and he vindicated it with worthwhile contributions with the bat in the T20 leagues. And courtesy those performances, the 27-year-old batsman, who can also bowl a bit of leg and off-spin, for the first time feels he’s ready for international cricket.

“For the first time in my career, I feel like I belong in this environment and it’s good to be back,” Livingstone said on Wednesday.

With an international experience of just two T20Is so far after a debut in June 2017, Livingstone shone with the bat in the Big Bash League, Pakistan Super League and the Mzanzi Super League (in South Africa) in recent seasons which also saw him re-signed by Rajasthan Royals for the next IPL.

But it was his ability to bowl that helped him trump both James Vince and Alex Hales for the tour of India.

“It’s something I’m continuing to work on and it adds another string to my bow,” he said.
