Lasith Malinga believes Sri Lanka lost Friday’s T20I against India in the last four-five overs when they bowled.

India recovered from 122/4 to post 201/6 in 20 overs in the final game of the three-match series, in Pune. The Lankan batsman were never up to the challenge as they were bundled out for 123 in 15.5 overs. India thus won the series 2-0, with the first match being abandoned.

Speaking after the match Sri Lanka captain Malinga said: “We bowled okay for these kind of conditions in the first 15-16 overs, but after that they (India) got away.”

Sri Lanka’s reply began on a disastrous note as they were reduced to 26/4. “Our top order, we lost four batsmen. But Angelo (Mathews) and Dhananjaya (De Silva) showed how to bat in these conditions.” Malinga said.
