SC East Bengal are looking for a reversal of fortunes when they face NorthEast United FC (NUFC) in the Indian Super League (ISL) at the Tilak Maidan in Vasco on Saturday. The Robbie Fowler-coached side lost their first two matches against ATK Mohun Bagan and Mumbai City FC, respectively.

Fowler believes the team needs more consistency. “Everything is driven by results in this country. We know that results are important, but we haven’t played badly despite not having the best of starts,” Fowler said on Friday.

SC East Bengal are yet to score in the league and have already conceded five.

They would miss the service of experience defender Danny Fox, who picked up an injury during the last match against Mumbai City FC.

Fowler said his comment on his side’s Indian players after their match against Mumbai City FC had been taken out of context. “I obviously didn’t mean to disrespect anyone. There are lots of good Indian players around, but their understanding of the game can always be better,” the coach said.

Maiden win for BFC In Bambolim, Bengaluru FC registered their first win of the season, prevailing 1-0 over Chennaiyin FC.

A 56th-minute penalty conversion from Sunil Chhetri made the difference between the two teams.
