In-form Mumbai Indians are scheduled to play bottom-placed Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Kotla on Tuesday. But with two non-playing staff of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) testing positive for Covid-19, there’s some uncertainty given that CSK’s last match was against Mumbai on Saturday.

If Tuesday’s game goes ahead as scheduled, it will be a mismatch of sorts without doubt.

Mumbai have been rejuvenated with back-to-back wins, including the humdinger against CSK. In contrast, Sunrisers suffered their sixth loss of the season when they were outplayed by Rajasthan Royals in the last game.

Mumbai, after some initial rusty performances, seem to have found their rhythm with their batsmen backing up their formidable bowling attack. Openers Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock are in decent touch, Suryakumar Yadav is always dangerous and Kieron Pollard, as he showed in the game against CSK, can be murderous with the bat.

Sunrisers are struggling on all fronts. They made the drastic move of axing captain David Warner and giving the responsibility to Kane Williamson instead. But even that did not help them to stage a turnaround.

A thin middle-order fails to complement the strong top order of Jonny Bairstow, Williamson and Manish Pandey. Their bowling looks rudderless with Bhuvneshwar Kumar out of form and relying only on Rashid Khan’s four overs will not win them matches.
