Sometimes even absolute brilliance is not enough. Sunday was such a day when despite Kane Williamson’s masterpiece, Sunrisers Hyderabad ended up on the losing side against Delhi Capitals.

The game went to a Super Over after Sunrisers toiled hard to match Delhi’s 159/4 with 159/7. But the Hyderabad team managed only 7/0 in the Super Over, which Delhi overhauled.

The Sunrisers should have won the game. Jonny Bairstow (38 off 18 balls) gave them a flying start. But thereafter, Williamson was left to fight a lone battle as all the other batsmen of his team, barring No.9 J. Suchith (14 not out off 6 balls), fell for single digit scores.

Covid-19 conqueror Axar Patel (2/26) and young pacer Avesh Khan (3/34) starred for Delhi.
