Leading the Chennai Super Kings to their fourth IPL crown in Dubai on Friday, captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni indicated that he might be hungry for more.
When Harsha Bhogle, during the post-match presentations, commented that Dhoni can be proud of the legacy he is leaving behind, the former India captain, 40, quipped: “Still I haven’t left behind.”
Speaking on Chennai’s success, the captain said: “We shuffled players. We had match-winners coming game after game and doing really well.
“Every final is special. If you look at the stats, we may say we’re the most consistent team to lose the final too. But I feel it’s important to come back strong, especially in the knockouts.”
Dhoni also lauded KKR for their superb turnaround in the second half of this IPL.
For Eoin Morgan, whose future with KKR now looks uncertain, it did turn out to be a pleasing campaign overall for his team.
“We are extremely proud of the fight we have shown. Guys fought incredibly hard and performed,” the skipper said.
