Kolkata Knight Riders captain Eoin Morgan felt the decision to bat on winning the toss had backfired and they should have bowled first.
“RCB bowled well, but we should have countered that better... Because of the dew factor, we probably should have bowled first,” Morgan said.
“I think it started with the batting. Being four or five down as early as we were is disappointing,” he said focusing on the reasons for the loss.
“We have been consistent with our selections of the top three and we believe they are the ones to take us forward. So it was important to back the Indian batsmen,” he reasoned. “Hopefully Russell and Narine will be fit and available around the corner.”
RCB captain Virat Kohli was a satisfied man.
“It was a good toss to lose because we would have batted first,” he said. “The plan was to bowl Washy (Washington Sundar) and Morris, but then we decided to go with Morris and Siraj.”
