Rohit Sharma felt lucky to have power hitters in his team, while David Warner missed an injured Bhuvneshwar Kumar after Sunday’s afternoon clash between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Sharjah.

“Great effort from the boys to put those runs on the board. It is great to have such power hitters in our side. Today Krunal (Pandya) also showed his value,” Mumbai Indians captain Rohit said at the post-match presentation.

Together, the trio of Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard and Krunal added 73 runs off 36 balls to boost Mumbai Indians’ total. On his bowlers, Rohit said: “The wicket looked good but it was slightly on the slower side, so getting past 200 was a great effort.”

Sunrisers captain Warner, was a bit critical of his bowlers. “Two new guys coming in today with Bhuvi injured as well. There are a lot of things we can work on in training. I counted probably seven or eight full-tosses towards the back end. From the execution point of view, we didn’t nail that,” he said.

On his team’s batting effort, Warner said: “Looking at the stats, their (Mumbai Indians’) two experienced bowlers bowled well in the middle overs. Obviously, with 200-plus on the board, we tried to go 10 an over, but we couldn’t get a partnership strung together long enough.”
