“Just watch the ball and hit it”. That was what Mahendra Singh Dhoni had told himself when going out to bat in a tough situation against Delhi Capitals in Qualifier I in Dubai on Sunday.

“My innings was a crucial one. Delhi have a very good bowling attack and they were using the bigger boundaries well. They exploited the conditions well, so we knew it would be tough.

“But it (plan) was nothing special as I just had to watch the ball and hit the ball,” Dhoni said at the post-match presentation after Chennai Super Kings’ thrilling four-wicket win.

Even India and Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli was overjoyed seeing Dhoni finishing things off in style.

“Anddddd the king is back...the greatest finisher ever in the game. Made me jump Outta my seat once again tonight... @msdhoni,” Kohli tweeted.
