The celebrations for Lionel Messi and company will not end anytime soon. Social media, too, is in party mode.
Messi ended his international title drought with a 1-0 win over Brazil in the summit showdown as Angel Di Maria scored early in the game. The Albiceleste then held on to the lead till the referee's final whistle.
Argentina won their first Copa title in 28 years, having won previously in 1993. Messi won the Best Player of Copa America 2021 award as the top scorer of the tournament.

Argentina expects
Messi's performance in the final was not as impressive as in previous matches of the tournament, during which he scored four goals and had five assists. He had a clear opportunity in the 88th minute, tried to dribble Ederson, but the Brazilian goalkeeper stopped him.
The title, however, provides the superstar some relief after all the questions throughout his career on his effectiveness playing for the national team.
