The Stewards of the Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) have handed jockey A. Sandesh a 12 race-day suspension for his riding on Juliette in the Indian Turf Invitation Cup, held on December 19 last year. Sandesh told the Stewards that he had no explanation to offer and that it was an error of judgement.

Trainer Karthik Ganapathy had lodged a complaint against Sandesh for not riding the mare to instructions, according to the RWITC sources.

Sandesh also said that he will not appeal the suspension. His suspension will effectively keep him out of action for rest of the Mumbai racing season.
