India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has revealed that he felt a lot of “mental pressure” when his efforts to recover fast from his back injury did not fructify. “I missed this atmosphere in these past six months, playing for India and the feeling that you get wearing the team’s colours. That had become a mental challenge and there were a lot of setbacks,” Pandya said during his appearance on Chahal TV, an interview session by Yuzvendra Chahal for the BCCI.

Russia fined

World Athletics on Thursday fined Russia’s track and field federation $10 million for breaching anti-doping rules and capped at 10 the number of Russians allowed to compete as neutrals at the Tokyo Olympics. The system of allowing Russian athletes to take part as Authorised Neutral Athletes, World Athletics president Sebastian Coe warned, “will be suspended if $5 million of the $10m fine is not paid by 1 July 2020”.

Honour for Tiger

Tiger Woods, a 15-time Major champion, will be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2021. “I am both honoured and humbled to be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame,” Woods said .

Harika in 7th place
