The luxury watch — an RM 27-04 Tourbillon Rafael Nadal — is part of a limited-edition series of 50 pieces, marking the 10th anniversary of the partnership between the Spaniard Nadal and the Swiss luxury watchmakers. The RM 27-04 weighs around 30 grams, is reported to be made from metal used in cars, and has “Rafa” embossed on the side.
The Sun reported that this is the first watch worn by a tennis player to cross the $1 million-mark ($1,050,000).
Nadal, on course for his 20th Grand Slam, reached the fourth round at Roland Garros on Friday with his 6-1, 6-4, 6-0 win over Italy’s Stefano Travaglia. Next up, the defending champion will meet Sebastian Korda of the US on Sunday.
