The idea behind the Q9 League is to play a shorter, fun format over nine holes instead of the traditional 18. “We were expecting only about eight to 10 teams in the tournament, but we now have 18 taking part, which only shows the huge response that we have got,” Indrajit Bhalotia, convenor of the Q9 committee, said.

“This tournament happens generally during monsoons. We couldn’t have it last year because it was the middle of the pandemic then.

“There isn’t any age limit as among the players, we have 12-to-13-year-old juniors as well as those aged above 70,” Bhalotia added.

Gladstone-PB, PB Aces, PB Legends, RSH Signature, Thunder Dragons, Verdant Colts, Designer Landscapes, Devils, Gladiators and Avendus Aces are among the 18 participating teams. Each team can comprise a minimum of seven and a maximum of eight players.
