Xavi Hernandez unveiled as Barcelona coach to fans at Camp Nou; Watch video

After being appointed head coach of debt-ridden Barcelona till 2024 on Saturday, Xavi Hernandez was unveiled to fans at Camp Nou earlier today. The madness peaked to a different level when the former midfielder met fans amid chants of "Xavi, Xavi".

Speaking to a crowd of 10,000 supporters, he said, "I don't want to get too emotional so I will tell you one thing -- we are the best club in the world."

The former club captain replaced Ronald Koeman as head coach on a three-year contract.

The 41-year-old was given permission to rejoin Barcelona after the Catalan giants agreed to meet the release clause in his contract with Qatari side Al Sadd on Friday.

Xavi Hernandez, who played 779 games for Barcelona and won 25 trophies, is expected to be unveiled at Camp Nou on Monday.

The former Spain international had left Barca in 2015 to finish his playing career at Al Sadd before taking over as head coach.
