A look at the current standings would make East Bengal anything but happy. With only six points so far from as many games, they are placed eighth.’

However, the win over Bengaluru FC in their own den has been a spark that East Bengal needed to brighten their prospects in this ISL. And it’s that spark which Stephen Constantine’s men are counting on going into Friday’s game against Odisha FC at the Salt Lake Stadium.

Odisha FC are two spots ahead of East Bengal at No.6 with nine points.

“The immediate positive was the clean sheet and the three points,” head coach Constantine said, referring to the positives from the win over Bengaluru. What also keeps Constantine optimistic is the current form and consistency of Gonzalez.

East Bengal are unsure about the availability of defender Jerry Lalrinzuala, who sustained an injury.
