Villa host Liverpool on Monday and visit Crystal Palace next and Spurs visit relegated Sheffield United after hosting City. Spurs, who trail Villa by four points, will need the six points to keep their hopes of playing in the Champions League alive.

"There's a big game for us on Tuesday night against City and it will be a great test for us, and the Sheffield one (too)," Postecoglou told reporters. "I think we have got what it takes to make a (winning) game of it (against City) and play our football and see where that takes us.

"They're an outstanding team and they and Arsenal are the benchmark of the competition right now. They're 20-odd points ahead of us and we've got some ground to make up, but it's at our place, it's 95 minutes of football and we're going to have a crack."

Spurs defender Micky van de Ven said, "Man City are an unbelievable team but it's up to us to show our own football and hopefully we can keep the three points at home."

Luton Town boss Rob Edwards said the Premier League was "just a bit too much" for his side after a 3-1 loss away at West Ham all but sealed his team's relegation.

Luton have struggled to find their feet in their first season in England's top flight since 1992, having won just one in 16 in the league, and not registered an away league win in 2024.

"We didn't get relegated because of today (Saturday), it was a culmination of the whole season. Today was a difficult day but we've been on an incredible journey. I'm just really disappointed that I'm the one responsible," he told reporters.

Edwards praised his side's performance in the first half, where Luton went into the break 1-0 up thanks to a sixth-minute header from Belgian midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga.

"We showed some good things to go 1-0 up... we showed we've got quality to get behind them," he told reporters.
