ATK Mohun Bagan crashed out of the Super Cup after losing to Jamshedpur FC 3-0 in a Group C Super Cup match at the EMS Corporation Stadium in Kozhikode on Friday.
Jamshedpur FC, who have six points from two matches, became the first team to qualify for the last-four stage.
FC Goa, who had beaten Gokulam Kerala FC 1-0 earlier in the day, also bowed out.
Even if Bagan, who have three points, beat FC Goa and Jamshedpur lose to Gokulam Kerala on April 18, the Jharkhand team will top the group by virtue of a better head-to-head record.
Jamshedpur rode a Boris Singh brace (21st and 41st) and a late Harry Sawyer strike (90+3) to record a memorable win over the ISL IX champions.
Bagan goalkeeper Vishal Kaith produced a fine save to keep Ritwik Das’ effort wide in the ninth minute. It was an early warning sign for Juan Ferrando’s men.
