Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford’s superb run of form continued as he netted a goal in each half of his side’s 3-0 Premier League win over Leicester City on Sunday to extend his scoring streak to five games.

Rashford latched onto a pass down the right from Bruno Fernandes and rifled the ball across keeper Danny Ward and into the net after 25 minutes at Old Trafford.

United midfielder Marcel Sabitzer was lucky to remain on the pitch after a dangerous challenge left Leicester’s Wout Faes needing treatment, with the Austrian, who is on loan from Bayern Munich, escaping punishment altogether.

United were a different side after the break, Lisandro Martinez hitting the crossbar in the 49th minute with a header and Rashford going close after another run and shot as Leicester lost their composure.

England international Rashford bagged his second in the 56th minute, cutting in from the left and tearing into the box before guiding the ball home to register his 14th league goal of the season and his 25th in all competitions.

Substitute Jadon Sancho added a brilliant third five minutes later when Lisandro Martinez won the ball in midfield to allow Rashford to feed Sancho, who played a quick exchange of passes with Fernandes before drilling home.

Tottenham Hotspur moved into the top-four as they returned to form with a 2-0 home win over West Ham.

There was little to separate the sides in a forgettable first half but Spurs stepped up the pace after the interval with goals by Emerson Royal and substitute Son Heung-min.

Liverpool ended Newcastle United’s long unbeaten run in the league through early goals by Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo that gave them a 2-0 victory on Saturday.

Messi wins it for PSG

Paris: Lionel Messi scored a stunning free-kick in added time to earn Paris Saint-Germain a 4-3 comeback win over Lille on Sunday and lift them eight points clear at the top of the Ligue 1 standings.

Mbappe opened the scoring in the 11th minute and Neymar doubled the lead. Bafode Diakite and David levelled scores before Jonathan Bamba gave Lille the lead. Mbappe then made it 3-3.

Neymar was taken off on a stretcher with a suspected ankle injury in the second half.

Messi won a free-kick five minutes into stoppage time and the Argentine curled it into the bottom corner to score his 11th league goal of the season and seal a dramatic victory for PSG.

Vinicius targeted

Madrid: The insults against Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior have continued in Spain, with the Brazil forward again being targeted by opposing fans in a Spanish league match.

The insults started during the moment of silence before Madrid’s 2-0 win at Osasuna on Saturday, and continued with fans chanting “Die, Vinícius” later in the game.

“The insults continue, but so does the dancing,” Vinícius said on Twitter later.

Vinícius led Madrid’s attack and set up the late goal by Federico Valverde. The other was scored by Marco Asensio.

The 22-year-old Vinícius, has been the target of racial insults since arriving to play in Spain in 2018.
