Manchester City's go-to man Rodri said it would be great for Pep Guardiola's team to repeat the treble-winning feat of last season.
"We want to do it again. I think we have a structure, a team, the project to do it again and have more success. And it's something you see in the team, the hunger to do it again. And in life, I think when you have goals, it is the energy of life. So we have new goals this season, and we want to do it again," Rodri said in an interview. The transcript of the interview was provided to The Telegraph by Star Sports Network.
The Spanish midfielder had a brilliant last season in which he also scored the only goal that helped Man City to win their maiden Champions League title.
"It was a dream come true. It's difficult to explain the emotions you get at that moment. Not only because of the goal, but what we achieved as a team in the Champions League. Everything was perfect that night (against Inter Milan in Istanbul).”
For a defensive midfielder, idolising Zinedine Zidane is sort of a surprise. “I would say Zidane was my idol. Of course, he was a different player than me. So I would try to look at players like Sergio Busquets or Xabi Alonso or Marcos Senna, and I improved in my role as a holding midfielder."
