Mohun Bagan Super Giant will host basement side Hyderabad FC in the ISL-X match at the Salt Lake Stadium on Saturday.
Bagan have not won their last four matches, but they are expected to log three points against a team who have just four points from 13 games.
Three defeats in December, a new coach in Antonio Lopez Habas in January and a last-minute draw against arch-rivals East Bengal in February, Bagan’s fortunes nose-dived in less than two months. That’s why the Hyderabad FC match could not have come at a better time.
Bagan will be without defenders Anwar Ali and Brendan Hamill due to injuries while Liston Colaco is serving a ban. Dimitri Petratos’s late goal helped Bagan snatch a point against East Bengal and he will be expected to score again on Saturday.
East Bengal on road
Kalinga Super Cup champions East Bengal play NorthEast United FC in Guwahati to kick off the double-header. Carles Cuadrat’s men will draw strength from the fact that in the first leg they routed NorthEast United 5-0 on December 4.
