Mumbai City FC edged past Mohammedan Sporting 1-0 in the ISL-XI at Kishore Bharati Krirangan on Sunday.
Mohammedan Sporting remain winless in their six home matches of the current campaign, drawing once and losing five times.
Mumbai City FC have now won seven matches and drawn twice in their last 10 ISL matches in Calcutta.
Vikram Partap Singh scored the all-important goal in the 49th minute.
Mohammedan Sporting defender Joe Zoherliana tried to clear a centre, but the ball ended in goalkeeper Bhaskar Roy’s gloves who punched it straight to Vikram Partap.
His powerful shot from the edge of the 18-yard area hit the bottom left corner of the net.
Mohammedan Sporting centre-back Mohammed Irshad was shown the red card for a second bookable offence in the 35th minute.
Andrey Chernyshov’s men, playing in the ISL for the first time, are last in the 13-team points table with five points from 11 matches.
Mohammedan Sporting lone victory came at Chennaiyin FC on September 26.
