Manchester United have reached an agreement to sign midfielder Mason Mount from Chelsea on a five-year deal, The Athletic reported on Thursday.
After back-and-forth negotiations, the London club have accepted a third offer from United worth £55 million ($69.39 million) plus £5 million in add-ons, the report said.
The 24-year-old Chelsea academy product made his debut in 2017 and has since scored 33 goals and provided 37 assists in 195 appearances in all competitions for the club.
The England international, who also had loan spells at Vitesse Arnhem and Derby County, helped Chelsea to the Champions League, Uefa Super Cup and Fifa Club World Cup titles.
Last season Mount played 24 league games, scoring three goals and making two assists, but was hampered by a pelvic injury.
Arsenal have signed Germany forward Kai Havertz from Chelsea on a long-term contract, the club said on Wednesday.

The transfer fee has not been disclosed but British media reported Arsenal will pay Chelsea £65 million ($82.63 million) with an additional £5 million in add-ons.
“It’s super exciting for me to be joining this amazing club and to be part of the Arsenal family. This club has such a big history, and I hope we can achieve lots of things,” the 24-year-old said.
Havertz joined Chelsea in September 2020 from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, where he had started his professional career.
“Kai is a player of top quality. He has great versatility and is an intelligent player. He will bring a huge amount of extra strength to our midfield and variety to our play,” manager Mikel Arteta said.
Chelsea had paid up to £71 million, including add-ons, for the German forward, according to media reports, making him Chelsea’s second-most expensive signing after goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Rice medical
Arsenal have agreed a deal worth £105 million to sign Declan Rice. Rice has been given permission to have a medical at the Emirates after the Gunners met West Ham’s valuation.
Talks were still ongoing over how the payments are structured, but both clubs expect a swift resolution and Rice has been told he is free to discuss personal terms and have medical tests.
The deal will smash Arsenal’s transfer record — the £72m they paid Lille for Nicolas Pepe in 2019 — and make Rice the most expensive British footballer in history.
Aston Villa have agreed a deal with Villarreal to sign Pau Torres, with the Spain defender expected to cost around £35 million.
