Kyle Walker on Bayern Munich's shortlist due to possible departure of Benjamin Pavard

Earlier, Pep Guardiola cast doubt on Walker’s long-term future in Manchester City when he said the former Tottenham full-back could not play as a defensive midfielder in his new 3-2-4-1 system

Kyle Walker has been shortlisted as one of Thomas Tuchel’s Premier League targets at Bayern Munich this summer.

The Manchester City right back has been earmarked as a potential signing at the Allianz Arena during the window in the event of Benjamin Pavard leaving the Bundesliga champions.

Tuchel, the former Chelsea manager, has also looked at West Ham’s Declan Rice but Arsenal have been leading the chase for the England midfielder.

He also has an interest in Harry Kane, whose future at Tottenham over the next year is uncertain as he has one season left on his contract.

Walker would appear the easiest of those deals to execute, given that City refuse to stand in the way of players when they want a new challenge.

Earlier in the season Pep Guardiola cast doubt on Walker’s long-term future in the City team when he said the former Tottenham full-back could not play as a defensive midfielder in his new 3-2-4-1 system.

Walker then won his place back in the starting line-up after a spell on the bench, with match-winning performances in the Champions League before being among the substitutes for the final when City clinched the Treble.

He has a year left on his contract, with no signs of an extension. AC Milan were among the teams to show early interest in him when it looked as though he could be available this summer.

City full-back Joao Cancelo was loaned to Bayern in the January window, although he is expected to return to the Etihad Stadium rather than stay permanently.
