East Bengal will hope to end their two-match losing streak when they host Kerala Blasters in the ISL-X match at the Salt Lake Stadium on Saturday.
After picking up four points from their first two games, East Bengal’s form dropped in October. They suffered losses against Bengaluru FC and FC Goa.
In Bhubaneswar against FC Goa, leading 1-0, East Bengal conceded two late goals within a minute. Three losses in a row could draw criticism and that’s the last thing coach Carles Cuadrat would want.
East Bengal will have to find the motivation to produce a much sturdier and more ruthless display in front of their home faithful to regain the winning momentum and climb up the ISL table.
Blasters have performed well in Kochi so far, but playing at the Salt Lake Stadium will pose new challenges. They have won three of their first five games, but will play an away fixture only for the second time in this campaign.
