East Bengal host Chennaiyin FC in the ISL-X match at the Salt Lake Stadium on Monday with both teams battling for play-off berths.
East Bengal, with 15 points from as many matches, are languishing in the ninth spot in the standings. Chennaiyin also have 15 points and placed 10th due to inferior goal difference.
East Bengal's form has dipped since their success in the Kalinga Super Cup but coach Carles Cuadrat said his team has the chance to qualify for the top-six.
"There are chances. Every point is important. We fight for every single point and determine on our final point tally. We might be in the playoffs. It is possible. It’s in our hands to have a good run of results. We have a never-say-die attitude and we will give our all to get a win against Chennaiyin,” he said at the pre-match news conference on Sunday.
Cuadrat did not lose the chance to take a dig at referees. "They (referees) have to be made accountable."
East Bengal are also struggling at home as they are on a three-match winless streak at the Salt Lake Stadium.
In Kochi, Kerala Blasters snapped a two-match winless run. They defeated FC Goa in a six-goal thriller.
