Jason Cummings got his second goal in as many matches for Mohun Bagan Super Giant on Tuesday. The former A-League striker opened his account for his new club on August 16 against Machhindra FC in the AFC Cup qualifying match and, on Tuesday at the Salt Lake Stadium, he got another. This time against Abahani Limited Dhaka.
Bagan came back from a goal down to win the playoff 3-1 and advanced to the main round of the AFC Cup.
Cummings, as expected, was happy with his performance. “I am happy to score again for my new team.
“The most important thing was to get the win and advance to the group
stage.
“Overall it was a good performance from the team, especially in the second half,” the 28-year-old Edinburgh-born Australian striker said at the post-match news conference on Tuesday.
Ferrando, the Spanish coach, was worried about the team’s injuries as they would be facing Mumbai City in the Durand Cup quarter final match on Sunday.
“We have some injuries. First, we need to recover and then we will think about the future. I am someone who likes to stay in the present.”
