The East Bengal seniors seem to be having a tough time on the field. But the reserves of Emami East Bengal are doing their best to bring some cheer back for the fans.

By the end of the first half itself, Vishnu and Mahitosh had registered their hat-tricks.

Bino George, who’s coaching East Bengal in the CFL, said he wanted to bring Vishnu to the club last season itself. Vishnu graduated from the Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) — where he used to play for Muthoot FA — and has former East Bengal defender M. Suresh as his neighbour back home in Kerala.

A step closer

In another game at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan, Mohammedan Sporting beat Diamond Harbour FC 2-0, getting closer to securing the title. Mohammedan Sporting need a victory against Mohun Bagan Super Giant on Friday to win the CFL crown.
