Mohun Bagan Super Giant have already had an anxious moment or two before qualifying for the quarter finals of this Durand Cup. A few more tricky moments await Juan Ferrando’s men as they are up against a strong Mumbai City FC in Sunday’s quarter-final clash at the Salt Lake Stadium.

Earning a berth in the AFC Champions League further underlines the strength and quality of Mumbai City. On paper, Mohun Bagan too aren’t far behind, especially in terms of quality.

However, Mohun Bagan too are looking to exploit the weak areas of their opposition, which could brighten their prospects of reaching the semi-finals, captain Subhasish Bose emphasised.

Head coach Ferrando sounded upbeat. “Our team is ready for the game but they are a strong side and use the flanks well,” Ferrando said.

The winner of this game will take on FC Goa in the semi-final on Thursday.

In Guwahati, FC Goa defeated Chennaiyin FC 4-1 in the quarter final.
