Bayern, the 11-time defending champion, was on the verge of cutting the gap to league leaders Bayer Leverkusen to five points until the 87th minute, when Höler struck a fine volley inside the far post after the visitors failed to clear the ball.

Leverkusen can move 10 points clear at the top with a win at Cologne in their derby on Sunday. “It’s really annoying how things are going right now. For me personally, for everyone,” said Jamal Musiala, who put Bayern in front.

Dier move permanent

Eric Dier’s loan move from Tottenham Hotspur to Bayern Munich has been made permanent after he completed the required number of appearances mentioned in his contract, the club said on Saturday.

The 30-year-old England midfielder joined Bayern on loan in January in a deal to the end of the season after spending a decade with Spurs, reuniting with former teammate Harry Kane. Dier’s contract has been extended until June 2025.
