Manchester United came from a goal down to beat West Ham United 3-1 at London Stadium on Saturday as fans returned to the Premier League for the first time since March.

United, who moved up to fourth on the table, have now won all five away games in the league this season, coming from behind in each one.

Czech midfielder Tomas Soucek put West Ham ahead, in front of the permitted 2,000 fans, in the 38th minute, turning in at the back post after Declan Rice had headed on a corner.

United were well below their best, forcing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to bring on Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes from the bench at the break and the move paid off.

Portuguese midfielder Fernandes set up Paul Pogba for the equaliser in the 65th minute, the French midfielder scoring with brilliant side-foot curler from outside the box.

Three minutes later Mason Greenwood put United ahead with a superb short on the turn after being fed by Alex Telles.

Rashford completed the comeback in the 78th minute with a delicate chip after being put clear through on goal by United’s other sub Juan Mata.

Manchester City too bagged full points with first-half goals from Raheem Sterling and Kevin de Bruyne securing a comfortable 2-0 home win over struggling Fulham.

It was the first time this season City notched up successive league wins and they now have 18 points from 10 games.

Pep Guardiola, however, criticised his players for missing chances against Fulham.

“This season looks like there will be a lot of teams in contention (for the title). Everyone can beat everyone,” he told the BBC.

“The finishing was wasteful and we know we have to improve this. In the last 20 minutes, we lost too many simple balls, which is a problem.”
