Royal Challengers Bangalore seem to be peaking at the right time and captain Virat Kohli was impressed with his team’s performance.

“It is a tremendous win against a very strong side. Heading into a busy week for us, it was important to start off well,” he said.

Kohli lauded AB de Villiers’ innings as he said: “Only AB can bat the way he did. It was a fabulous knock. We were looking at 160-165 and it was thanks to his genius that we got to 195.

“I was happy we could string together a partnership, and mine was the best seat to watch from,” Kohli, who was involved in a 100-run unbroken partnership with De Villiers, said.

Man of the Match De Villiers, too, was satisfied with the knock. “I am very happy with my performance. I got a duck in the last game… That was a terrible feeling. Very happy that I contributed.”

KKR captain Dinesh Karthik felt De Villiers’ innings made the difference.
