This season, Cristiano Ronaldo finished as the highest goalscorer in the Serie A. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to goalscoring records for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.
Having scored 29 goals for Juventus, with Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku far away at 24, Ronaldo is now the first footballer to end the season as the highest goalscorer in the Serie A, Premier League and La Liga.
Ronaldo joined Juventus in 2018, and scored 31 goals last year, finishing behind Ciro Immobile (36). Overall, Ronaldo’s tally for Juventus stands at 101 goals.
Ronaldo was La Liga's top-scorer with Real Madrid on three occasions -- in 2010/11 (40 goals), 2013-14 (31) and 2014-15 (48). He has also achieved the historic feat of becoming the all-time goalscorer for the Blancos (450), going past Raul Gonzalez’s record of 323. Raul, however, has the highest number of appearances for the Blancos at 741, with Alfredo Di Stefano at number three with 396.
At Manchester United, Ronaldo scored the highest number of Premier League goals (31) in the 2007-08 season, playing under the legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Ronaldo left United for Real in 2009, with 292 appearances and 118 goals in his kitty.
Last night, Ronaldo might have been benched in the season-end clash versus Bologna, but that hasn’t stopped him from breaking into the record books.
This hasn’t been an easy season for Andrea Pirlo and his boys. But there was something to cheer about when Juve clinched their 14th Coppa Italia title, beating Atalanta 2-1 on May 20, after being knocked out of the Champions League in the round of 16. The Italian Cup was Ronaldo’s fifth silverware with the Old Lady.
