Both Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Giants have played two and lost both their matches. Both teams will be keen to get off the mark and keep their knockout chances alive when they meet at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday.
Gujarat Giants remain hamstrung by uncertainty over the availability of regular captain Beth Mooney, but they will take the spirited performance in their second game as a form of inspiration moving forward.
RCB have grappled with balance issues. In their first game, their bowling let them down while in the second, their batters didn’t do justice to their reputation.
RCB captain Smriti Mandhana on Monday admitted that they were “below par” against Mumbai Indians but promised a strong comeback.
“We would have loved to put up a better performance. We were below par. Will come back harder. There were two-three batters getting 20-30 runs, a few batters including me couldn’t put up a good score,” Mandhana said.
“We will sit and talk and try to come up with a better performance,” she said.
