On paper, Royal Challengers Bangalore appear to be better placed than Delhi Capitals, whom they play in Bangalore on Saturday. But fact is, RCB will be as worried as winless Delhi.

Having begun the season with a good win, the RCB unit suddenly look a little lost after two back-to-back losses. But the return of Wanindu Hasaranga will hopefully give them some confidence. The Sri Lankan spinner is a top professional in the shortest format of the game and can add another dimension to RCB’s bowling, which often look ordinary.

In Virat Kohli and captain Faf du Plessis they have two class acts at the top of the order, but one is not sure how the others will rise up to the challenge if the two openers get out cheaply. They will also have to handle Delhi spinners Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav well as spin has often troubled them.

But before thinking of troubling RCB, Delhi will of course have to sort their own issues as they remain without points even after four games.

Delhi’s biggest issue is their batting. Captain David Warner has got runs but not at an ideal T20 strike rate, Prithvi Shaw is woefully out of form and the rest have been ordinary. In such a scenario, the return of Mitchell Marsh is definitely good news for the team. The all-rounder had flown back to Australia for his wedding but is back to charge up Delhi.

Bowling-wise Delhi are in a better place with the likes Anrich Nortje and Mustafizur Rahman supervising their pace arsenal.

Overall though, it is the respective captains — Du Plessis and Warner — who need to marshall their resources well to affect a change in fortune.
