Virat Kohli joined the national team’s training session on Monday at the picturesque Arundel Castle Cricket Club along with left-arm seamer Jaydev Unadkat.
India will play Australia at the Oval in the World Test Championship (WTC) final from June 7 to 11.
The BCCI on Monday shared pictures of the Indian players’ practice session on its official Twitter handle.
“Team India members begin their preparations for the WTC23 at ArundelCastle Cricket Club,” the tweet read.
While some players, including Kohli, have reached England, the others will join in after the IPL final.
Hazlewood included
Josh Hazlewood made the cut when Australia submitted their final 15-man squad for the WTC final despite recent injury concerns.
The 32-year-old joins captain Pat Cummins, Scott Boland and Mitchell Starc as the specialist fast bowlers in the squad with all-rounder Mitch Marsh and batter Matthew Renshaw, who were included in the original party, missing out.
Umpires announced
England’s Richard Illingworth and Chris Gaffaney of New Zealand will be the on-field umpires in the WTC final.
Richard Kettleborough will be the TV umpire, while Kumar Dharmasena is the fourth umpire. Richie Richardson of the West Indies will be the Match Referee.
