Bengal continued their good run in the Vijay Hazare Trophy as they marched into the quarter finals with a confident win over Gujarat in Rajkot on Saturday.
Chasing a 284-run target, Bengal mastered the chase with centuries from captain Sudip Gharami and veteran Anustup Majumdar to reach home in 46 overs and with eight wickets to spare.
While Sudip anchored the chase with a 132-ball 117 not out, the experienced Anustup opted to take a more attacking route with an 88-ball 102.
Bengal lost opener Habib Gandhi in the very first over. But Gharami first stitched a 77-run partnership with Abishek Porel (47) and then put up an unbeaten 209-run stand with Anustup to push Gujarat out of the game.
Bengal will face Haryana on Monday for a place in the semi-finals.
