India suffered a 10-wicket drubbing at the hands of England in the second semifinal to end their campaign at the T20 World Cup on an embarrassing note at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday.
England thus entered the final where they will take on Pakistan at the MCG on Sunday.
Put in to bat, India posted 168 for six after Virat Kohli's 40-ball 50 and Hardik Pandya's 33-ball 63.
In reply, England made a mockery of the chase as they romped home with four overs to spare, with Alex Hales (86) and Jos Buttler (80) producing commanding fifties during their unbroken opening stand.
While the Indian bowlers cut a sorry figure and stayed wicket-less, Chris Jordan returned with 3 for 43 for England.A six from Jos Buttler down the ground was how England scored the winning runs.
"On the day we were not good enough," said India coach Rahul Dravid at his post-match press conference. "We were out-classed and out-played in every department," he added.
It was a one-sided victory for England as they dominated ever since the start and their openers just threw India out of contention.
Alex Hales and Jos Buttler both raced to their respective fifties, keeping Indian bowlers at bay throughout the innings in a chase of 169 runs.

Earlier, Virat Kohli (50) and Hardik Pandya (63) hit contrasting half-centuries as India recovered from a wobbly start to post a decent 168 for five against England in the second T20 World Cup semi-final at the Adelaide Oval.
Put in to bat, India had a slow start and lost opener KL Rahul (5) early but Kohli held the innings together to slam his fourth fifty of the tournament.
But it was Pandya who propped up India's total from 100 for 3 as he blazed his way to a 29-ball fifty with two boundaries and one six in a row off Sam Curran.

But if India scored at least 20 runs less, blame it on skipper Rohit Sharma (27 off 28 balls) and the first 10 overs that yielded only 62 runs. In a semifinal, consuming 42 dot balls (effectively 7 maiden overs) doesn't paint a pretty picture.
Had it not been for the sixes that Hardik hit off Sam Curran (0/42) and Jordan, India would have ended with a below-par score as Kohli, despite his fourth half-century, couldn't up the ante.
For England, Adil Rashid (1/20 in 4 overs) was the best bowler on the park and one can only pray that India don't miss Yuzvendra Chahal. Chris Jordan returned with 3 for 43.
