Sunrisers Hyderabad will need to get their house in order when they take on Lucknow Super Giants at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Monday.

First and foremost, the Sunrisers bowlers must pull up their socks. They were hammered in their opening match, against the Rajasthan Royals, and in Lucknow they face another team which boasts of a powerful batting line-up.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the veteran of many a battle, will need to lead from the front. Lucknow, powered by the likes of captain KL Rahul, Quinton de Kock, Evin Lewis, Deepak Hooda and the promising Ayush Badoni, will run away with the game if not checked early.

Besides Bhuvneshwar’s experience, Sunrisers have Umran Malik, who bowls with fearsome pace. Then there is the wily Washingston Sundar and the usually-very-accurate T. Natarajan. They, however, lack a good second spinner.

In batting, one among captain Kane Williamson, Rahul Tripathi and Nicholas Pooran needs to score big.

Aiden Markram and Washington batted with purpose in their lost contest against the Royals. The Sunrisers, perhaps, will do well to push Washington up the order to give their batting line-up more flexibility.

The Super Giants, on the other hand, looked good when they chased down a tall total against the Chennai Super Kings. In a further boost, Caribbean all-rounder Jason Holder has completed his quarantine and will most probably play on Monday.

They will hope for a better bowling display though and the onus will be on two youngsters — pacer Avesh Khan and leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi.
