Arshdeep Singh likes to keep things simple and that is the secret to his success he believes. Returning to the team after an injury-induced break, the left-arm pacer took 2/24 in India’s win over the West Indies in the first T20I in Tarouba on Friday. “It was a good experience. I am happy with my performance. The team won, so the happiness doubled. Due to a break, I am playing after a long time. So, I want to work with (bowling coach) Paras (Mhambrey) Sir and improve on different areas,” Arshdeep said at the media conference after the match.
“I guess, keeping things simple, using the wicket a lot, using the slower one and just trying to nail my yorkers, I think that worked for me,” the 23-year-old, a find of the IPL, added. Arshdeep has played just two games for India so far in his budding career, but he has no doubts about his role in the team and thinks that it is that clarity which has helped him do his job properly. “I was pretty aware of my roles and responsibilities. Both the team management and the captain briefed me about my role as a bowler when I have to come to bowl and all. “That gave me a lot of clarity and confidence and I could plan accordingly,” Arshdeep said.
