Captain Faf du Plessis acknowledged Royal Challengers Bangalore's massive 112-run win over Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on Sunday would serve as a big boost to the team.

"It was really good to win it this way. Indeed a big boost as we needed it, especially in terms of the net run rate," Du Plessis said at the post-match presentation.

"Hopefully we can set it up for that last game against GT (Gujarat Titans) at the Chinnaswamy (on May 21). Today (Sunday) was really good for the team and I'm sure everyone will be extra motivated for the next two matches."

According to the RCB skipper, batting wasn't easy on the Jaipur pitch as the team felt even 160 would be a good total on such a surface. "It was a really difficult pitch when we batted first.

"Even in the Powerplay, the ball was keeping low and we felt that 160 would be a good score. Those hits towards the end (by Anuj Rawat) pushed us to a very good score," Du Plessis pointed out.

His former South Africa teammate Wayne Parnell, coming into the side as Josh Hazlewood's replacement and adjudged Man of the Match for his 3/10, also credited RCB's batting group. "Credit goes to our batters. That last over (of the RCB innings) really brought momentum to our side.

"We understood what was needed and to execute the way we did was really pleasing. All of our batters had the same message: take the pace off the ball and try to hit the stumps."
