Sudip Gharami (112) and Anustup Majumdar (120) hit fantastic centuries that powered Bengal to 307/4 on Day I of their Ranji Trophy semi-final clash against Madhya Pradesh in Indore.

Captain Manoj Tiwary (five) and Shahbaz Ahmed (six) were at the crease at stumps on Wednesday after Gharami and Majumdar’s massive 241-run third-wicket partnership.

Bengal won a good toss on a pitch with grass content and their decision paid off as the Holkar Stadium track aided strokeplay. Abhimanyu Easwaran (27) and Karan Lal (23) looked solid in their 51-run opening stand before they were both cleaned up by deliveries that shaped in a little bit.

Bengal suddenly found themselves under a bit of pressure, but both Gharami and Majumdar showed good composure to overcome that tricky phase and eventually reach the three-figure mark.
