Their campaigns wobbling after a string of defeats, bottom-rung teams Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans will be desperate to arrest the slide and get back to winning ways when they face off here on Sunday.
The Titans were all out for an embarrassing 89 in their last match against Delhi Capitals, that too at home. That defeat was morale-crushing.
Punjab too lost their last match, but only after giving Mumbai Indians a real scare. Their recovery from 14/4 to lose the match by only 9 runs while chasing a 193-un target will give them confidence.
Two of their lower-order batters, Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma, have been going great guns in the last few matches and too is a plus point.
But for both the teams, it is their top order which has been a headache.
Punjab are still without their captain and opener Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow was dropped in their last match because of poor form.
For the Titans, on the other hand, captain Shubman Gill has been their only half-centurion after seven games.
Needless to say, both the teams have a lot to work on.
