Vikram Rathour doesn’t seem to be worried with India Test captain Virat Kohli’s tendency to fish outside the off-stump and perish. “This is the shot which brings Virat lots of runs. He needs to play it, but sometimes your strength turns out to be your weakness as well.
“If you don’t play a certain shot, you’ll never get out playing that shot. But you’ll never score runs as well,” Rathour, the batting coach, said. He, however, added that Kohli needs to “pick better balls” in order to execute his strokes outside off-stump.
“As I said, that’s the shot Virat plays well and he needs to carry on playing it. But he needs to pick better balls (to execute that shot),” Rathour said.
